N-propanol (n-propanol), also known as 1-propanol, is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C3H8O and a molecular weight of 60.10. It is a colorless and transparent liquid with a smell like ethanol, soluble in water, ethanol and ether. Propionaldehyde is obtained by oxo synthesis of ethylene, and then obtained by reduction. Mainly used as a solvent, it can also replace ethanol with a lower boiling point as a solvent, and also used for chromatographic analysis.
