Maleic anhydride, also known as maleic anhydride, maleic anhydride, 2,5-furandione, etc. Orthorhombic colorless needle or flake crystal. It has a strong irritating odor, is soluble in ethanol, ether and acetone, and is insoluble in petroleum ether and carbon tetrachloride. With hot water, it becomes maleic acid.

Application

It is mainly used to produce raw materials for unsaturated polyester resin, alkyd resin, pesticide malathion, high-efficiency and low-toxic pesticide 4049, and long-acting iodine amine.
It is also a comonomer for coatings, male rosin, polymaleic anhydride, maleic anhydride-styrene copolymer, and an organic chemical raw material for the production of ink additives, papermaking additives, plasticizers, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, tetrahydrofuran, etc.
