Polyanionic cellulose, abbreviated as PAC, is a water-soluble cellulose ether derivative obtained from natural cellulose through chemical modification. It is an important water-soluble cellulose ether, commonly used as its sodium salt, and widely used in oil drilling, especially in salt water wells and offshore oil drilling.

Characteristics of Polyanionic Cellulose:

* 1) Evenly substituted, high transparency, control viscosity and reduce filtration loss
* 2) Applied in fresh water,seawater and brine water based mud system
* 3) Formulated mud show good filtration loss, brine-resistance and high temperature stable
* 4) Formulated mud show good rheology control,to inhibit clay or shale swell or collapse, hence to prevent well contamination
* 5) Stable soft soil structure, prevent well collapse
* 6) While drilling through the rock surface, to slow down the solid accumulation in mud.
* 7) Keep down the turbulence scale,to minimize the pressure loss in reverse-flow system.
* 8) Improve mud yield, reduce filtration loss
* 9) Stable foam in mud

Application

1. It can be used as a sizing agent for light yarns as an alternative to starch in the textile industry;

4. Used as a latex stabilizer in the rubber industry;
